Rest & Restore – Cultivating Calm Through the Practice of Yoga

Are you seeking some deep rest and space to cultivate calm in a busy life? The practice of Yoga has been shown to be beneficial for an anxious mind.

Join me for a 2 hour Yoga Therapy session, held on the second Sunday of every month that is designed to gift you tools to cultivate a sense of calm and rest in your life, tools that you can use everyday.

We gather together with a ritual cup of tea to settle us into our cosy space at 127b; a place where we can leave our busy lives at the door and for a few moments in time nurture our self.

When we practice in a way that prepares our body, breath and mind to be ready to stay and rest in stillness; when we practice in a way that is not focused on a particular style or even a particular posture we allow time to feel into our being and into our own capacity, which in turn allows us to have our own personal experience of what yoga has to offer.

Our session begins with gentle movement accompanied by the breath and sound to link the body, breath and mind. Other aspects of yoga such as visualisation, gesture and mudra may also be used in ways that encourage the mind to focus and become steady, growing our capacity to stay within the deep rest that is the goal of this practice.

How do we take yoga off the mat?
How do we create space for rest and calm in our every day existence?

It is through experience that we learn what works for us and possibly what doesn’t, and from this we learn how to become more present to life itself.

The focus for this series is to gift an experience of peace and deep rest and an opportunity to then take some of those positive experiences and transplant them into everyday life.

Rest is just a breath away and learning to connect to that place where quiet lives inside our self is a real gift

I encourage you to allow your self this opportunity to find stillness and come to know what that feels like in your body and mind.
